Common questions

I do not have an invite.

Join the waitlist. We will email when we are ready for more players. The waitlist does not guarantee an invite.

My invite does not work.

Check the code, including letters and numbers. If it still does not work, ask the person who shared it or join the waitlist. Support may not be able to tell you why a particular code is unavailable.

I did not get the text code.

Check the cell number, wait a moment, and request one more code. Carrier filtering and delivery delays can happen. If it still does not arrive, email support.

My text code does not work.

Use the newest code you received. Codes expire. Request a new one if needed.

Is my waitlist email my login?

No. Waitlist email is only for access news. A CleanSpades player uses a cell and one-time text code.

Do I need a password?

No. CleanSpades does not use a player password.

Are all four seats people?

Not always. Some tables include computer players, and their seats are labeled.

What happens if I lose my connection, my phone crashes, or I am slow or away during a game?

Every table, casual or tournament, follows the same rule. If your account has three timeouts (a bid or play that runs out of time) in one game, or in one tournament, it goes AFK. A bid or card in between does not reset that count, and pressing Go AFK in the table menu counts as the same thing. While your account is AFK a bot plays the seat, fast, for the rest of the game. Nobody is removed while AFK, and other accounts see an Away badge on the seat. You see an AFK banner with an I'm back button, and each turn the bot plays gives a short sound and a haptic; the menu has separate Sound and Haptics switches.

Going AFK flags your account for the rest of that game or tournament. If you press I'm back, the flag stays, and your AFK flag count on your account goes up by one. Your bid and play clock then drops to about 15 seconds, and the table tells you that your account will be removed after 2 more timeouts, then after 1 more. The next timeout removes it. That counts as an abandoned game on your record, a bot finishes the seat, and you see how many games you have won, lost and abandoned. In a tournament your account becomes an observer and the entry fee is not refunded. If your account is still AFK when a casual game ends, it leaves the table and goes back to the lobby.

What happens when a game ends?

If everyone at the table is still there, the next game starts after a 10-second countdown that you can see. You can quit during the countdown and nothing is charged. The fee for the next game is taken only when the countdown finishes and you are still seated. If you were away when a game ended, you go back to the lobby and are not put into the next game.

Can I start a table that is not full?

Yes. If you are seated and waiting for other people, press Start game. Computer players take the empty seats, and the game begins after a short countdown.

Are there private tables?

No. Every custom table with someone seated shows on the table list, with its table name. Anyone seated can start it.

Is this real-money gambling?

No. There is no cash-out and no real-money wagering.

I found a bug or something felt wrong at a table.
